Nokia 6303 Classic – a nice budget phone

The Nokia 6303 Classic shows that Nokia has cleverly realised that not all phone users want an all singing all dancing techno box. There are still many users who are quite happy just to talk and text. So they have taken their popular Nokia 6300 and given it a make over.  It’s elegant, fits your hand shape and has a strong finish, making it a tough, rough and tumble phone you can take anywhere.

The 2.2 inch screen is amply big enough for texting, which gives plenty of room to house the keypad so that typing text messages is not a fiddly task. It also features a good quality camera with 3.2 megapixels, LED flash and auto focus, and the video works at a respectable 15 frames per second.

The music player supports all common formats, includes FM radio and there is the ability to add a memory chip to boost the 17MB by a further 4GB. The sound quality is excellent and the addition of a 3.5mm headphone jack is a useful feature.

This phone has USB and Bluetooth 2.0 and connectivity is good. It also supports voice command, maps, email capability and web browsing. Upgrading the battery has given it a much longer lifespan and makes the Nokia 6303 a winning upgrade to a favourite phone.

This is a budget phone in every sense, not a high tech, touchscreen G3 marvel, but it is very good for what it sets out to do. If you like simple Nokia phone styling, there is not much wrong with the Nokia 6303.
