Motorola Rokr E8 Overview
The Motorola Rokr E8 is a phone that’s marketed to those whose priorities are music and style. The buttons and controls are subtle on this black candy-bar handset. The microSD slot is placed beside the SIM slot inside the phone, meaning less ugly slots, enhancing the look of the handset. It will not appeal to users who regularly swop cards.
The keypad is fitted with haptic technology making it touch sensitive, a merging of a touch button and the characteristic touch sensitivity of the iPhone. It feels and works like a physical keypad too as speed texting is relatively simple.
The handset has a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is good news and the music player supports compatible music formats such as MP3, AAC, WAV and WMA but does not support protected WMA/AAC from, for example, iTunes or Napster. But what is supported can be listened to through headphones or wirelessly via stereo A2DP Bluetooth.
The camera is 2-megapixels and can be found on the back of the handset. There is no in-built flash and there is limited memory at only 2GB but it can be increased with a memory card of up to 4GB.
The screen is also on the small side at two inches but it displays images clear, sharp and colourful.
The E8 is not a 3G handset, so it is not a good option if you enjoy regularly browsing the web. Or you can install Opera Mini, which works with EDGE and GPRS, and quad-band compatibility that would make this a good phone for world travel.
