LG Arena KM900 Overview

The LG Arena KM900 has a lot to like about it but if you’re a mobile telephone expert who always has to be glued to your phone, you’ll find this handset fiddly and irritating.

There’s lots of plus factors with this phone.  It’s got 8GB of memory, a 5-megapixel camera and a fabulous new interface.  It looks good, sleek and shiny with rounded curves.  The makers have added a 3-inch display that adds a distinct sharpness to the colours that is noticeable when watching video clips and films on it.  The sound quality is excellent with the Dolby mobile surround making a huge difference, and you are able to plug your own headphones into the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Pictures taken using the 5-megapixel camera in daylight hours are good and ones shot at close range in low light are ok.  The LED photo light is bright but obviously not as bright as phone-cameras with a xenon flash.

The Arena’s interface is awkward to use and you might find that it takes a bit of time to figure out how it works at first.  The interface is advertised as being cube-like but the cube does not move up or down, the screens only move from side to side.  The handset does not feel as instinctive as the iPhone, which it will be judged against.

If you have left the phone inactive for more than a minute you have to press the power button, which is really annoying.
